Packing your child's lunch doesn't have to be difficult and it's one of the most important things you can do. Keep in mind, foods are different than when we were growing up. So many foods are filled with harmful ingredients. Children do not NEED a treat in their lunchbox! There is no value in these foods and it can negatively affect their health as well as their school performance.
What to include in your child's lunchbox:
At least 1 fruit and 1 veggie, a healthy carbohydrate (whole grain bread, rice, quinoa, legumes/lentils, etc), lean protein (beans, edamame, peas, sliced turkey or chicken, eggs, tuna, nuts, natural PB, etc), and water -freeze on hot days to keep the lunch box (and your child) nice and cool.
